Government back ISS UK to become a National Intercountry Social Work Resource

Under the CYPF Strategic Funding Programme, the Government have awarded ISS UK over £250,000 to establish itself as a national inter-country social work resource centre. The three year grant will assist ISS UK in providing advice, information and training to social work practitioners across the country.

It has been recognised that many practitioners face a skills and knowledge gap when faced with a social work issue with an international dimension. The aim of the resource centre is to fill this gap by drawing on the experiences and expertise developed within ISS UK over the last 50 years and sharing this knowledge and experience with practitioners to enable them to deal more effectively with intercountry social work issues
