Adoption

Intercountry adoption is an ever increasing global phenomenon. CFAB firmly believes that children should be able to grow up within their own communities and within their own countries. We are also guided by the principle that all children have the right to family life.

We recognise that often children in care, both here and abroad, have family members who can adopt them living in other countries. We believe these options should be available to children and that the differing bureaucracies between countries should not be a barrier to children enjoying the right to family life.

The Role of CFAB

CFAB offer’s a range of pre-adoption services including arranging assessments of potential adoptive parents overseas (these are often extended family members of children in care in the UK). We can also assist in obtaining consents to adoption from overseas.

CFAB is no longer a registered adoption support agency. This means that we will not be able to assist with any tracing enquiries.
